Ida Reed Dog Park Rules
In order to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our park patrons (people AND pets), the following rules have benn put in place at Ida Reed Dog Park. We thank you for your consideration.
- Hours are dawn to dusk.
- Dogs under 30 pounds are allowed only on the south side of the park; dogs over 30 pounds are allowed only on the north side of the park.
- All dogs must have current rabies and all other vaccinations required by the State of Texas and the City of Beaumont. Owners must carry a copy of their dog’s rabies vaccination certificate while in the dog park, and dogs must wear current license tags in the dog park. All dogs should be healthy and free of contagious diseases and be parasite f ree.
- All dog bites must be reported to City of Beaumont Animal Control, 880-3794, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and to the Fire Department, 880-3901, after hours and on weekends.
- Dog in heat are prohibited from entering the park.
- Dogs under 6 months are prohibited from entering the park.
- Owners must dispose of their dog’s waste.
- Owners should discourage their dogs from barking, according to city ordinance
- Owners should prevent their dogs from digging, and repair any damage done to the grounds of the dog park.
- Owners should never leave dogs unattended.
- All dogs must be under the control of an adult. There is a limit of 1 dog per adult in the park at all times.
- All dogs must be leashed when entering and leaving the park. Please leash and unleash your dogs inside the double gated holding area. Owners must carry a leash with them at all times while in the dog park.
- All dogs must be within sight and voice control of their owner. Owner must be within the fenced enclosure at all times.
- Dogs showing signs of aggression must be leashed and IMMEDIATELY removed from the dog park.
- Owners are encouraged to inquire about any dogs already in the dog park which are unfamiliar to them PRIOR to entering the dog park. Observing dogs’ body language is highly recommended.
- For safety reasons, please remove pinch (prong) and spike collars from your dog prior to entering the dog park. A basic flat bucket collar is recommended.
- No food (including dog treats) or drink (dog or human) is allowed in the dog park. Water is allowed.
- Children must be 12 years or older to enter the dog park and must be accompanied by an adult. Children should not be allowed to run with or chase after dogs in the park.
- Use of the dog park is at your own risk. Owners not obeying posted rules will be asked to leave immediately.
